Lewis Latimer House Museum (LLHM)
Responsive WP Website
WordPress Website
We rebranded the Lewis Latimer House Museum and designed a responsive website with a focus on promoting its educational programs for children.
Homepage
Website
The landing page was designed to highlight LLHM’s key offerings: the Tinker Lab educational program, weekly events, and current exhibitions.
Because Tinker Lab was such a central part of their programming, it was given a dedicated page with expanded content, making it easier for families and educators to explore.
Assets
A custom map was designed for the homepage, which works seamlessly as a print asset.
LLHM also requested a dedicated logo for the Tinker Lab program. We based the final design on a strong concept from the initial logo round, using its shape as inspiration to maintain visual continuity.

Manual
To make the handoff easier we created a website guide on how to use WordPress to create events and exhibitions, edit existing posts and pages, and properly size images to maintain visual consistency on the homepage.
Typography
Poppins, a Google font, is used for the LLHM website. It is clean, legible, and friendly, and has a large variety of weights like Between 2, the typeface used in the LLHM branding.
The use of oversized typography was inspired by leading institutions like MoMA, the Whitney, the New Museum, and the Museum of Arts and Design.
To modernize LLHM’s visual identity and add a more playful tone, I differentiated the Events and Exhibitions pages—amplifying the features most relevant to visitors and making them easier to engage with at a glance.
